Today the Chairman of the Energy Management Institute Mr. Slavtcho Neykov welcomed representatives of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Sofia for an informal discussion on some recent energy policy developments in Bulgaria. Mrs Agnes Koppelman, Second Secretary, and Mrs. Monica Nikolova, Senior Economic and Commercial Officer at the Embassy, showed particular interest on the views of the Institute, concerning the role and perspective of the considered Gas Hub, the nuclear issue and the topic of market liberalization.
While presenting his views on the topics, Mr. Neykov recalled that the Energy Management Institute is a non-governmental and politically neutral organization, which in its activities and within the scope of its statute supports and promotes the developments of the Bulgarian energy sector in line with the EU energy policy and acquis.
Both sides underlined the important role of the NGOs in the process of development of the national policy and legislative framework in the energy field; in this context, EMI noted its readiness to cooperate with relevant NGOs from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which focus their work in these aspects.
