Energy and Climate Diplomacy 2022

The Diplomatic Institute has published the seventh edition of the collection “Energy and Climate Diplomacy”, which was presented on 23 June during the annual international seminar on the same topic.

The main focus of the articles in the issue is on the prospects and challenges of the energy transition in the SEE region against the backdrop of the geopolitical turmoil and the war in Ukraine, energy security in the region and opportunities for EU cooperation with the Caspian and Eastern Mediterranean countries, as well as the role of public-private partnerships in achieving the objectives of the European Green Deal and the future of coal regions.

Among the authors are Alexander Nikolov, outgoing Minister of Energy, Arthur Lorkowski, Director of the Energy Community, Konstantsa Rangelova and Martin Vladimirov, energy experts at the CSD, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics at Sofia University, Nadezhda Kokotovic, Director of the Brussels Energy Club, Victoria Petrova and Yonka Duneva, diplomatic officers at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Olivier Marquette, President of AES Bulgaria, Tim Yeo, President of the New Nuclear Watch Institute, Ahmad Khumbatov, energy expert at the Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) at ADA University in Baku, Nedko Kosev, PhD student at the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University and Dr. Rumyana Grozeva, Executive Director of the Regional Economic Development Agency in Stara Zagora.
