The 5th Working Group Meeting of the Platform for Coal Regions in Transition will focus on: technical assistance opportunities as part of the Initiative, updates on transition strategies, insights on success stories from other EU regions and contributions of other international initiatives to the transition from coal.
Stakeholders from all sectors will also discuss:
- National Energy and Climate Plans and the EU’s Long Term Strategy;
- Coal mine closure companies / authorities and their role in transition;
- The potential of renewable energy in coal regions.
- The Working Group will also feature a bottom-up discussion between participants in order to enable direct exchanges of experiences at every level.
The event will take place at the Albert Borschette Congress Centre, Rue Froissart 36, 1040 Brussels, Belgium.
