This EURELECTRIC event “Efficiency and Electricity: The Role of CHP” will focus on EU policy to improve energy efficiency up to 2030 and the contribution of CHP to energy efficiency and security of supply in the EU. This event will bring together stakeholders to discuss the EU’s energy efficiency agenda by exploring challenges, successes in improving energy efficiency, questions and themes linking electrification, alternatives for future policies and the role of CHP in the energy transition. EURELECTRIC sees Combined Heat and Power (CHP) as an important element in Europe’s transition to a diverse and low-carbon energy mix but CHP capacity is today facing major challenges due to conflicting policies and economic downturn. We will debate how to improve the business environment for CHP through smart policies.
