The Cohesion Policy 2014-2020 is at hand. The European Structural and Investment Funds 2014-2020 offer new opportunities to support investments and to reach growth and prosperity in the European regions and Member States. After intensive preparations over the past months, in 2014 the Member States will make the last amendments on the Operational Programmes 2014-2020 and start with the implementation. In order to reach high absorption capacity in the new programming period, Member States need to set up appropriate management structures for the funds, put in place adequate management systems and tools and expend their administrative skills. The authorities involved in the implementation, management and control of the new EU Funds as well as the future beneficiaries face challenges like:

  • How to ensure efficient management and use of the European Structural and Investment Funds
  • What are the expectations of the European Commission towards the Member States and their authorities
  • What are the main challenges in the drafting and implementation of the Operational Programmes 2014-2020
  • How to establish an efficient management and control system for the smooth implementation of EU Funds 2014-2020
  • What advantage brings the thematic concentration of the efforts
  • What practical obstacles may arise and how to tackle them
  • How to make the best use of the harmonised rules for all EU Funds
  • How to identify the most suitable set-up of national and regional arrangements
  • How to secure a more efficient delivery, high absorption capacity and less administrative burden for beneficiaries
  • How to achieve synergies, coordination and cooperation among the different sources and various stakeholders

The 9th European Annual Symposium EU Funds 2014 offers support and solutions in all these areas with a number of parallel lectures – participants can design their individual timetable. This must-attend European Symposium enables the exchange of knowledge, experience and best practices between all relevant actors from the EU Institutions and the Member States. Special networking possibilities in high class surrounding will be ensured.
