Domestic gasification no longer needs construction permits
Since 26 November 2012 there are no need of construction permits for building gas installations in residential buildings and villas. This means that users can gasify their homes much more easily explained by the “Overgas”. The amendment to the Spatial Planning Act (SPA) was adopted by the National Assembly Decree. It was initiated by the Bulgarian Association “Natural Gas” (BNGA).
So far households who wanted to be gasified had to get such permits from the local municipal administration. Without this requirement, the procedure is significantly faster and eliminates the red tape. With no local charges for issuing a construction permit the initial investment for the gasification of each household is significantly reduced.
Another change, which also takes effect, is that indoor gas installations will be built with the written consent of one-half of the owners rather than two-thirds of them. However, you would have to register the installation equipment with the technical supervision bodies to ensure their reliability.
We recall that in Western Europe there are no requirements for issuing such permits for the construction of gas installations. Now this happens in Bulgaria.
Over the years, “Overgas” with BNGA repeatedly initiated changes in the legal basis in order to facilitate households gasification. Until recently, 27 different types of permits were necessary for construction and operation, later one they became 17. Now another obstacle to the development of domestic natural gas and energy efficiency in the country is dropped.
* Changes in the SPA were published in the Government Gazette of 26 October 2012 and entered into force in 30 days (from November 26, 2012).
