The Energy Management Institute (EMI) is organizing a Round Table on the topic “THE DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTRICITY NETWORKS – EUROPEAN AND NATIONAL TRENDS AND PROBLEMS”, which will take place on 23 February 2023 in the Grand Hotel Sofia from 09.30 to 13.30.
We invite you to take part in the work of the Round Table!
The event is in-person. The working languages are Bulgarian and English with provided translation.

- Costis Stambolis – Chairman & Executive Director at IENE (Institute of Energy for South-East Europe);
- Prof. Atanas Georgiev, PhD – Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration
- Representatives of electricity network operators
GOALS
The main purpose of the discussions is to present up-to-date views on the actual state of electricity networks, including from the point of view of changes in the European and national legal and regulatory framework.
Within the event, the latest data on best practices in other Member states of the European Union will be presented, as well as on problems that have arisen, particularly from the perspective of the renewable energy capacities connection to the grid.
The topic will also be considered in the context of the regional electricity market development.
In the light of the national dimensions of the network development issue, a critical review of the Recovery and Resilience Plan and the Integrated Energy and Climate Plan will also be made.
Based on the discussions, specific proposals will be prepared regarding the updating of these frameworks, which will be presented to the state institutions accordingly.
Representatives of state institutions, the diplomatic corps, companies, business associations, experts, etc., are invited to participate in the Round Table. The event is open to the media.
